Safety effort planning document: DC Fire & Emergency Medical Services Department
The IAFC and the IAFF encourage you to use Safety Week as a time to plan or begin new efforts, or evaluate and improve existing efforts, that will yield long-term safety commitment and results. This is a planning document to that end.

Safety Week Media Event That Features Fire-Based EMS: Las Vegas Fire & Rescue
TV stations and print media attended a media event at LVFR fire headquarters. The event included a brief PowerPoint presentation and special video made by LVFR’s EMS Medical Director. The media was briefed on safe and unsafe practices, viewed a demonstration in the back of one of the ambulances and participated in a ride along (restrained in seat) in the unit. The event aired on all the local TV news stations, including the Spanish stations. View print coverage.
